The Seawood Hotel is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of the North Devon Heritage Coast. In the heart of Exmoor and Lorna Doone Country; Lynton, and its twin village, Lynmouth have been known as "England's Little Switzerland" since their popularity with the Victorians.
Exmoor is one of the country's smallest National parks. From the heather-clad hillsides to the steep wooded valleys, it is a walkers paradise.
Just below the hotel is North Walk where the poet Shelley used to promenade to the famous Valley of Rocks. One can wander through our own landscaped grounds, follow the path to the uniquie Cliff Railway, which stops right at our gate, and carrys on to Lynton.
Regular boat trips leave Lynmouth harbour and cruise the Exmoor coast passing colonies of seabirds and sometimes Dolphins and Seals basking off the coastline.
Red Deer and Ponies are among the variety of wildlife to be found on Exmoor. Today it is a walkers paradise.
